The Trouble With Platner

Sometimes “Vote Blue No Matter Who” is hard to do.

I returned this week from my visit to Britain and France refreshed from not following US politics 24/7… and minus my trusty laptop, which met its demise on a motorway in Wales.

(Moral of the story is to take special care when latching the back of your unfamiliar rental car, as one of your bags may end up tumbling out.)

So after 40 years of using a computer keyboard for my writing process, I am making do with just my phone - and I do not like it.

Needless to say, this message is going to be shorter than usual.

Thankfully, the loss of my computer had absolutely no effect on the quality of discussion with Karoli and Aliza yesterday. We managed to cover the latest with:

  • The $1.776 billion slush fund (withdrawn? Still happening? Who knows?)

  • Bill Pulte’s elevation to DNI (withdrawn after we recorded? Who knows?)

  • Todd Blanche’s official nomination as Attorney General

  • Tuesday primaries

  • The murder of 60 Minutes

  • And the controversies swirling around Maine senatorial candidate Graham Platner.

Despite all the chaos: it’s good to be back.
