Spike Dolomite is an artist, an advocate, and a fierce and funny writer. We’ve known her since the Obama years, when she was a contributor to the MOMocrats 1.0 group blog.
Back then, she was out there working for the acceptance of the Affordable Care Act. But since 2017, she has been putting out what she calls The Daily Crime Report, which is exactly that: a compendium of all the shit actions committed by the president and his cronies.
Spike has compiled her commentary on 45’s administration into a book, called (what else?) Trumped Up. And - as I told her in our interview last week - it’s kind of a depressing read.
We intended to drop this interview into the second half-hour of last week's podcast. But the pace at which the new regime is authoritarianizing America is so fast and furious, we spent the entire hour yakking about it. So we decided to send this one out as a standalone bonus episode.
“Right after he was inaugurated I just remember being just in shock every day. Every day. And MAD at like, how could you people have done this? Look what you did.”
And now?
“I remember when we were talking about this a couple of weeks ago, like yeah - his first presidency was the good old days. When we didn’t know any better. Now we know!”
One Last Thing
If you are like me, you spent the holiday contemplating the sacrifice of those who gave their lives for our nation. I know I did all I could over the last three days to disengage a little from our ongoing national nightmare.
So I missed these important words from veteran 60 Minutes correspondent Scott Pelley, who is even more heartbroken about what’s happening at CBS News than we are. Worth your time.
