I can’t tell you all how much I wish we had decided to record the podcast TODAY instead of yesterday. My sister called me a couple of hours ago, just to gush about how this very public Elon Musk and Trump feud was giving her more joy than she’s felt in months.
And figuring out what exactly to talk about this week would have been easy. Not to mention delicious.
I guess it’s another illustration of how fast life moves in the Trump era. Our show notes ran a whopping 5 pages (more than twice the usual volume). We had enough material to go for three hours (don’t worry: we will never do that to you!)
We ended up resurrecting a bit we used to do in the old BlogTalkRadio days: We a spinner from the game of Life to help us make choose.
I call it “Wheel of Awful.”
Musk’s departure from the White House and subsequent complaints about the budget bill was number 6 on that list - and the spinner never landed there.
However, we did talk about the terrorist attack in Boulder, Colorado, the regime's dangerous choice of people to pardon, Pete Hegseth's crusade to make the military white, straight, and male, and how grateful we are to Senator Joni Ernst for reminding us all that we’re going to die.
Will these entitled billionaire babies still be fighting each other next week? Will this keep them too busy to do more harm to the country? We’ll check back in next week.
What Was On the List
Here is the actual list from yesterday’s show notes. The ones we did cover are bolded.
The surveillance state
How about We Are All Going to Die? (this would be what the bill does to healthcare/SNAP)
Melissa Ryan on the end of the right-left divide; our coalition now is democracy defenders vs enablers/supporters of authoritarianism (so welcome Bill Kristol and Liz Cheney - and brand new Democrats David Jolly and Joe Walsh - but this may also include Gavin Newsom’s inexplicable MAGA turn)
Immigration issues ICE - What happened in San Diego and other regions. Also the aggressive tactics they took in Jerry Nadler’s office (not to mention prosecution of Rep. LaMonica Ivers (Note that we put this list together yesterday before the announcement of a new US travel ban.)
Boulder terrorism event (feels like it’s open season on Jews. And no surprise that the regime really doesn’t care about anti-semitism unless they can blame it on Biden)
Musk’s divorce from Trump - and do we even care at this point? (We do, however, care about the big ugly budget bill) (I guess #6 and #2 both lead to the budget bill, but through different doors)
Pride Month
Gun Violence Prevention Month
Trump administration revokes guidance requiring hospital to provide emergency abortions - this will kill women
Where are the Democrats?
