We went live shortly after the news that New York Attorney General Letitia James had been indicted on phony charges of “mortgage fraud” and “making false statements” to a financial institution.
We’d been prepared to talk about the government shutdown and the government’s militaristic invasion of Chicago (and barbaric treatment of its citizens) - but once again, we got caught up in the regime’s strategy of hijacking a discussion of its crazy, authoritarian actions by doubling down with even MORE crazy, authoritarian actions.
It’s exhausting. We know you’re feeling that way, too.
We did get around to talking about Chicago, Portland, and the Attorney General’s Senate performance of “Mean Girls” - as well as the heroism of governors and other Democratic leaders who are doing what they can to fight back against the administration. Because we’re no longer just in danger of slipping into autocracy - we’re there.
But we still found some bright sides - most focused on the fact that the struggle for democracy is not over yet.
Watch and see.
